Joe was complaining to me the other day that there are WAY too many plastic shopping bags under the sink. I have a nasty habit of putting the groceries away and then shoving all of the bags into one and throwing them under the sink, not really want to put too much energy into finding a better place for them. For months I have been considering "going green" with my shopping bags, but I haven't been able to find a bag that I wanted to carry around.
Call me crazy, but I feel that if I'm going to carry around a product that with a label that is visible, I need to believe in that product. I love Target and do most of my shopping there. They always have really cute merchandise, and I almost bought a bunch of their reusable bags on several different occasions. I'm glad that I didn't. While I love Target, there is another company that I love even more....Stampin' Up!
One of the perks of being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! is being able to purchase some of their exclusive products, including their new reusable shopping bags! I was so excited to see that the reusable bags were available, I ordered 15 of them! I don't buy that many groceries, there are only two of us and a small dog...I thought I'd share the love with the wonderful ladies who play the role of hostess for my stamp classes. They are honestly the cutest reusable bags I have seen anywhere.
I used my new bags for the first time tonight, and I had this small sense of accomplishment that I walked out of the store with my new bags full of goodies for our Super Bowl party, and no plastic to worry about recycling. Will this lead to a path of hippy-dom? I doubt it...I like showers and deoderant that's full of chemicals...but I do feel slightly better about my carbon foot print.
